Remove outer leaves of the cabbage and chop into bite-sized pieces. Rinse and drain.
Sauté Aromatics:
Heat butter and olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Add diced onion and cook for 2–3 minutes until softened. Stir in the minced garlic and cook for 30 seconds.
Add Cabbage:
Add the chopped cabbage to the skillet. Stir well to coat in the oil and butter mixture.
Season and Cook:
Sprinkle in salt, pepper, smoked paprika, and red pepper flakes (if using). Stir and pour in chicken broth. Cover and let cook for 10–12 minutes, stirring occasionally, until cabbage is tender but not mushy.
Serve:
Remove from heat and adjust seasoning to taste. Serve warm.
