Melt the Chocolate Mixture
In a microwave-safe bowl, combine the chocolate chips, peanut butter, and butter. Microwave in 30-second intervals, stirring between each, until fully melted and smooth. Stir in vanilla extract.
Coat the Cereal
Place the rice cereal in a large bowl. Pour the warm chocolate mixture over the cereal and gently stir to coat evenly without crushing the cereal.
Add the Powdered Sugar
Transfer the coated cereal to a large zip-top bag or a large container with a lid. Add the powdered sugar, seal, and shake until all the pieces are coated.
Cool and Serve
Spread the puppy chow onto a baking sheet or parchment paper to cool and set. Once dry, serve or store in an airtight container.
