For Whiter Whites:
Add ½ to 1 cup of distilled white vinegar to the fabric softener compartment of your washing machine—not the detergent tray.
Wash your white clothes with regular detergent as usual.
The vinegar will help break down detergent residue, brighten fabric, and restore whiteness.
For Softer Towels:
First, wash your towels without any detergent—just use hot water and 1 cup of vinegar in the drum.
Run a second wash cycle with ½ cup baking soda, again with no detergent.
This two-step method strips towels of built-up residue and softens fibers naturally.
Dry towels thoroughly—preferably in the dryer with wool dryer balls or line-dried in the sun.
Ongoing Maintenance Use:
For routine laundry, add ½ cup of vinegar to the rinse cycle every few washes.
Do not mix vinegar directly with bleach or baking soda in the same compartment—this can neutralize their effectiveness.
