Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour an 8-inch round cake pan.
In a mixing bowl, sift together the flour, cocoa powder, and baking powder.
Add the sugar and mix well.
Gradually pour in the milk, stirring continuously until the batter is smooth and free of lumps.
Pour the batter into the prepared cake pan.
Bake for 25–30 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
Let the cake cool in the pan for 10 minutes, then transfer it to a wire rack to cool completely before serving.
