Empty the Freezer:
Remove all food and place it in a cooler or insulated bag with ice packs to keep it cold.
Place Boiling Water Inside:
Boil water and pour it into a bowl or pot. Place it inside the freezer on a trivet or towel to avoid damaging surfaces.
Close the Freezer Door:
Close the door and let the steam do its work for about 10–15 minutes. The warm steam loosens the ice buildup rapidly.
Mop Up and Remove Ice:
After steam has softened the ice, open the door. Use a plastic scraper to gently dislodge large chunks. Wipe up melting water with towels.
Repeat as Needed:
If ice remains, refresh the hot water and repeat the process until the freezer is ice-free.
