Preheat the oven to 180°C (350°F). Grease and flour a cake pan.
Wash, hull, and chop the strawberries into small pieces. Set aside.
In a large bowl, beat the eggs with the sugar and vanilla sugar until light and fluffy.
Gradually add the milk and vegetable oil, mixing well.
In a separate bowl, sift together the flour, baking powder, and salt.
Slowly incorporate the dry ingredients into the wet mixture until just combined.
Gently fold in the chopped strawberries, reserving a few to sprinkle on top.
Pour the batter into the prepared pan and arrange the reserved strawberries on top.
Bake for 35–40 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
Let the cake cool before dusting with icing sugar.
