A Gentle Sip of Tradition: Bay Leaf and Clove Tea

Introduction
When I was a child, I would often watch my grandmother stand by her old clay kettle, adding leaves and spices with the kind of grace only time can teach. She would always say, “Nature whispers secrets to those who listen closely, my dear.” One of her best-loved secrets was a warm cup of bay leaf and clove tea—an old family brew she swore by, especially when the air turned chilly and life felt heavy on the shoulders.

Today, I still prepare this humble tea for my own family. It’s not some magical cure, but a small, comforting ritual to remind us of nature’s simple gifts. Whenever you feel weighed down or need a gentle lift, I hope you will think of my grandmother and try this soothing cup yourself.

Ingredients:
2–3 dried bay leaves (fresh may also be used)

3–5 whole cloves

2 cups of water

Optional: 1 small slice of fresh ginger

Optional: Honey to taste
