Introduction
If you’re dreaming of a garden filled with vibrant, thriving blooms, you don’t need expensive fertilizers. Just reach into your pantry for one humble ingredient—baking soda. This simple, natural recipe can enhance flowering, control fungal diseases, and help 12 common garden plants blossom more beautifully.
Ingredients:
1 tablespoon baking soda
1 gallon (3.8 liters) of water
Optional: a few drops of mild liquid soap (for better adherence to leaves)
How to Make:
Fill a clean watering can or spray bottle with 1 gallon of water.
Add 1 tablespoon of baking soda.
Stir well to fully dissolve the baking soda.
If using as a foliar spray, add 2–3 drops of mild liquid soap to help the solution stick to plant leaves.
Apply the solution directly to the soil or lightly mist onto the leaves of your flowering plants once every 2–3 weeks.
Serving and Storage Tips:
Use immediately after mixing for best results.
If using as a foliar spray, avoid application during peak sunlight hours to prevent leaf burn.
Store leftover solution (without soap) in a sealed container for up to 5 days, stirring before reuse.
