Wash the lemon thoroughly and slice it into thin rounds.
In a small pot, bring 2 cups of water to a boil.
Add the lemon slices and whole cloves to the boiling water.
Reduce heat and let it simmer gently for about 10 minutes.
Remove from heat and strain the liquid into a cup.
Add honey if desired and stir well.
Drink warm for best results.
