Mix equal parts baking soda and water to create a thick paste.
Apply Paste to Soleplate:
Ensure the iron is unplugged and cool. Spread the baking soda paste evenly over the dirty soleplate, focusing on stained or burnt areas.
Wipe and Scrub:
Use a damp cloth or sponge to gently scrub the soleplate. For stubborn spots, carefully use a soft toothbrush or cotton swabs.
Clean Steam Vents:
Dip a cotton swab in white vinegar and clean out the steam holes on the soleplate.
Flush the Iron:
Fill the iron’s water tank halfway with a mixture of equal parts white vinegar and water. Turn the iron on to its highest steam setting and let it steam for about 5–10 minutes to remove mineral buildup inside.
Rinse:
Empty the tank, fill it with clean water, and steam again to rinse out any remaining vinegar.
Final Wipe:
Unplug and let the iron cool. Wipe the soleplate with a clean, damp cloth to remove any residue.
