Heat olive oil or butter in a skillet over medium heat. Add the chopped onion and sauté until translucent and soft.
Add the minced meat to the skillet. Cook, breaking it up with a spoon, until browned and fully cooked through. Season with salt, pepper, and optional spices.
Preheat your oven’s broiler or toaster oven.
Place the toasted bread slices on a baking tray. Spread the cooked minced meat mixture evenly over each slice.
Sprinkle shredded cheese generously on top of the meat layer.
Broil the toasts for 2-4 minutes or until the cheese melts and bubbles with a golden finish. Watch closely to prevent burning.
Remove from the oven and let cool for a minute before serving.
