Introduction
Tired of buzzing flies, itchy mosquito bites, or sneaky cockroaches? You don’t need toxic chemicals to keep your home pest-free! With just a few natural ingredients, you can create powerful homemade remedies that repel or trap insects quickly and effectively. Use these three tricks, and you'll notice a huge difference—some even say pests disappear within an hour!
1. Homemade Mosquito Trap
Why it works: The sugar and yeast combination produces carbon dioxide, attracting mosquitoes, which then get trapped inside the bottle.
Ingredients
1 cup water
5 tablespoons sugar
1 tablespoon active dry yeast
1 empty 2-liter plastic bottle
Tape & cardboard or dark fabric
How to Make
In a small pot, mix water and sugar. Heat gently until sugar dissolves, then turn off the heat.
Add the yeast and stir once.
Cut the top off the plastic bottle and invert it into the base (like a funnel).
Pour the sugar-yeast mix into the bottle.
Seal the bottle edges with tape and cover with cardboard or fabric to keep it dark.
Place the trap in mosquito-prone areas (corners, near windows).
2. Bay Leaf & Clove Spray
Why it works: Bay leaves and cloves release strong scents that repel many types of insects, especially cockroaches, mosquitoes, and flies.
Ingredients
1 cup water
15 dried bay leaves
20 cloves
How to Make
Combine all ingredients in a small pot.
Simmer on low heat for 10 minutes to extract the oils.
Let it cool slightly, then pour into a spray bottle.
Spray areas where insects are common—under sinks, near drains, doors, and windows.
3. Multi-Insect Repellent Spray
Why it works: This combo suffocates and repels insects with its thick texture and strong scent, while also leaving surfaces clean and fragrant.
Ingredients
1/2 cup shampoo (any kind)
1/2 cup white vinegar
1/2 cup vegetable oil
