Finely chop the salmon fillet or pulse it in a food processor until coarsely ground.
In a bowl, mix the salmon, panko crumbs, egg, green onions, poblano pepper, salt, and pepper thoroughly.
Form the mixture into 4 equal patties.
Preheat the grill to medium-high and lightly oil the grates.
Grill the patties for about 4–5 minutes per side until cooked through and nicely charred.
Prepare the avocado salsa by combining chopped avocado with lemon or lime juice, salt, and pepper.
Serve the salmon burgers topped with the avocado salsa.
