Grow Fresh Broccoli Indoors: A Simple Guide to Container Gardening

Prepare your container: Choose a pot with drainage holes. Fill it with potting mix, leaving about 1 inch of space at the top.

Sow seeds: Plant 2–3 broccoli seeds about 1/4 inch deep. Lightly cover with soil and mist with water.

Provide light: Place the container near a bright window or under a grow light. Broccoli needs 6–8 hours of light daily.

Thin seedlings: Once seedlings appear, thin them to leave the strongest one.

Water regularly: Keep the soil consistently moist, but not soggy. Water when the top inch feels dry.

Fertilize monthly: Use a vegetable fertilizer to promote strong growth.

Harvest: In about 60–80 days, when the head is firm and compact, cut it with a sharp knife. Smaller side shoots may grow afterward for a second harvest.
