Crush the butter cookies into small pieces or crumbs using a rolling pin or food processor.
In a saucepan over low heat, melt the butter, then add the sweetened condensed milk and cocoa powder.
Stir continuously until smooth and thickened (about 3–4 minutes).
Remove from heat and mix in the crushed cookies and desiccated coconut.
Press the mixture evenly into a lined square baking dish.
Sprinkle extra coconut on top and gently press it down.
Chill in the refrigerator for at least 2 hours before slicing into bars.
