High & Creamy Vanilla Flan

Preheat the oven to 180°C (350°F).

In a saucepan, heat the milk gently until warm (do not boil).

In a large bowl, whisk together the eggs, sugar, cornstarch, and vanilla extract until smooth.

Slowly pour the warm milk into the egg mixture, whisking constantly to prevent lumps.

If using, add the butter and stir until melted and combined.

Pour the mixture into a buttered round or rectangular baking dish.

Bake for 40–50 minutes, or until the top is golden and the flan is set but slightly wobbly in the center.

Let cool completely, then refrigerate for at least 2 hours before serving for best texture.
