Select a healthy, non-flowering stem about 5–6 inches (12–15 cm) long with new growth and two sets of leaves.
Prepare the Cutting
Cut the stem at a 45-degree angle just below a node (where the leaf joins the stem). Remove all but the top two leaves. If you have rooting hormone, dip the cut end in it.
Plant the Cutting
Plant the cutting in moist, well-draining potting mix. Gently firm the soil around it.
Create a Greenhouse Effect
Cover the pot with a clear plastic bag or dome to maintain humidity. Make sure the plastic doesn’t touch the leaves.
Keep It Moist & Warm
Place the pot in a warm, bright spot out of direct sunlight. Mist the cutting every few days to keep humidity high.
Wait for Roots
Roots typically develop within 2–4 weeks. You can test by gently tugging—resistance means roots have formed.
Transplant When Ready
