Fried Cabbage with Shrimp, Sausage & Bacon

Slice the cabbage thinly, peel and devein the shrimp, slice the sausage, dice the onion, and mince the garlic.

Cook the bacon:
In a large skillet or cast-iron pan, cook the chopped bacon over medium heat until crispy. Remove with a slotted spoon and set aside, leaving the bacon fat in the pan.

Cook the sausage:
Add the sliced sausage to the same pan with the bacon fat and cook until browned on both sides. Remove and set aside with the bacon.

Sauté onion and garlic:
In the same pan, add the diced onion and cook until translucent, about 3-4 minutes. Add minced garlic and paprika, cooking for another minute until fragrant.

Cook the shrimp:
Add the shrimp to the pan and cook until pink and opaque, about 2-3 minutes per side. Remove and set aside.

Cook the cabbage:
Add a little oil or butter if needed. Toss in the sliced cabbage and sauté on medium heat until it softens and starts to brown, about 8-10 minutes. Season with salt and pepper.

Combine everything:
Return the bacon, sausage, and shrimp to the pan with the cabbage. Stir well to combine and heat through for 2-3 minutes.

Serve:
Garnish with fresh parsley or green onions if desired. Serve hot as a delicious, hearty main dish.
