How to Whiten Very White Socks Without Bleach

Pre-soak: Fill a basin with hot water and add 1/2 cup baking soda. Soak your dirty socks for at least 30 minutes (up to a few hours for very stained socks).

Wash: Add your usual laundry detergent to the washing machine. Add the pre-soaked socks and run a regular wash cycle with hot water.

Vinegar rinse: During the rinse cycle, pour 1 cup of white vinegar into the fabric softener compartment to brighten and soften the socks naturally.

Lemon boost (optional): For extra whitening, add lemon juice to the soak water or the wash cycle. The natural acids help break down stains and brighten fabric.

Dry: Air dry your socks in direct sunlight if possible. Sunlight naturally bleaches and freshens whites.
