In a bowl, dissolve yeast in warm milk. Let it sit 5 minutes until frothy.
Add sugar, melted butter, egg, and salt. Gradually add flour and knead until smooth and elastic.
Cover the dough and let it rise in a warm place for about 1 hour or until doubled in size.
Prepare the Filling:
Mix softened butter, chopped nuts, and brown sugar in a bowl until combined.
Assemble the Rolls:
Roll out the dough into a rectangle on a floured surface.
Spread the nut filling evenly over the dough.
Roll the dough tightly into a log shape.
Cut into slices about 1–2 inches thick and place on a greased baking tray.
Apply Egg Wash:
Beat the egg yolk and milk together. Brush over the top of each roll for a golden finish.
Bake:
Preheat oven to 180°C (350°F).
Bake rolls for 20–25 minutes or until golden brown.
Cool and Serve:
Let the rolls cool slightly before serving. Enjoy warm or at room temperature.
