Chocolate Covered Strawberry Cake

Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour two 9-inch round cake pans or line them with parchment paper.

Mix Dry Ingredients:
In a large bowl, sift together flour, sugar, cocoa powder, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.

Combine Wet Ingredients:
In another bowl, whisk eggs, milk, vegetable oil, and vanilla extract until smooth.

Mix Batter:
Gradually add wet ingredients to the dry ingredients, stirring until just combined.
Carefully stir in boiling water — the batter will be thin.

Add Strawberries and Chocolate Chips:
Gently fold in the sliced fresh strawberries and chocolate chips.

Bake:
Pour batter evenly into prepared pans. Bake for 30–35 minutes or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.

Cool:
Let cakes cool in pans for 10 minutes, then transfer to wire racks to cool completely before frosting.
