Perfect Soft and Fluffy Dinner Rolls

Add the egg, salt, and 3 ¾ to 4 cups of flour.

Mix until a soft, slightly sticky dough forms, adding more flour as needed.

Knead for 5–6 minutes until smooth and elastic.

First Rise

Cover the bowl and let the dough rise in a warm spot until doubled in size, about 1 hour.

Shape the Rolls

Lightly grease a 9x13-inch baking pan.

Punch down the dough and divide it into 12 equal pieces (about 3–3.5 oz each).

Roll into smooth balls and place them in the pan.

Second Rise

Cover loosely and let rise until doubled again. The rolls should be puffy and touching.

Bake

Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).

Bake on the middle rack for 15–20 minutes or until golden brown.

Finish

Brush the hot rolls with butter immediately after baking.
