Homemade Butter in 5 Minutes (From Cream!)

Pour the cream into a stand mixer, blender, or food processor. Whip on high speed.
First, it will turn into whipped cream, then it will start to separate. Continue until the fat solids (butter) separate from the liquid (buttermilk). This takes about 5 minutes.

Strain and Collect the Butter
Pour the contents through a sieve or cheesecloth to separate the butter from the buttermilk.
Save the buttermilk for baking or cooking.

Wash the Butter
Place the butter in a bowl and pour cold water over it.
Knead it gently with a spatula or your hands to rinse out any remaining buttermilk.
Repeat this process with fresh cold water until the water runs clear.

Shape and Store
Press out excess water.
Shape the butter into a block or scoop into a container.
Optional: Add a pinch of salt for flavor.
