Gourmet Meatballs in a Rich Mushroom Sauce

In a large bowl, combine ground meat, breadcrumbs, Parmesan, milk, onion, garlic, egg, salt, and pepper. Mix gently until just combined.

Form and Cook Meatballs:
Shape mixture into 1.5-inch meatballs. Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium heat and brown meatballs on all sides. Remove and set aside.

Make Mushroom Sauce:
In the same skillet, melt butter. Add onion and garlic, sauté until translucent. Add mushrooms and cook until browned.

Add Broth and Cream:
Pour in broth and simmer for 5 minutes. Stir in heavy cream and bring to a gentle simmer.

Combine Meatballs and Sauce:
Return meatballs to skillet, cover, and cook for 10 minutes until cooked through and sauce thickens.

Finish and Serve:
Sprinkle with fresh parsley. Serve hot over pasta, mashed potatoes, or with crusty bread.
