In a bowl, whisk together the eggs, milk, and salt until well combined.
Take a baking dish and layer it with 6 slices of bread.
Place ham slices evenly over the bread, then add a layer of cheese slices.
Top with the remaining 6 slices of bread.
Pour the egg and milk mixture evenly over the bread layers, pressing down gently to soak the bread.
Sprinkle the extra cheese on top for a golden crust.
Bake for about 25-30 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and bubbly and the top is golden brown.
