Sprinkle Diatomaceous Earth: Apply a thin layer around baseboards, under sinks, and in cabinets. It dehydrates and kills silverfish naturally.
Essential Oil Spray: Mix 10 drops of lavender or citrus essential oil with water in a spray bottle. Spray in affected areas regularly.
Baking Soda & Sugar Trap: Mix equal parts baking soda and sugar and place in shallow containers. The sugar attracts them, while baking soda is toxic to them.
Jar Trap with Bread: Place a piece of bread in a glass jar. Wrap the outside with tape (for climbing), but leave the inside smooth so they can’t escape.
Boric Acid Dust: Use in cracks and crevices, but keep away from children and pets.
Reduce Humidity: Use a dehumidifier, repair leaks, and keep your home well-ventilated to deter silverfish from nesting.
Seal Food and Papers: Store dry goods in airtight containers and keep books and paper in sealed boxes or dry locations.
