Identify Infested Areas: Inspect mattresses, bed frames, furniture seams, baseboards, and cracks for live bedbugs, shed skins, or dark fecal spots.

Declutter and Clean: Remove clutter to reduce hiding spots. Wash all bedding, curtains, and clothing in hot water (at least 60°C / 140°F) and dry on high heat.

Vacuum Thoroughly: Use a vacuum with strong suction to clean mattresses, carpets, furniture, and crevices. Dispose of vacuum bags or empty canisters immediately outside.

Apply Steam or Heat Treatment: Steam clean mattresses and furniture if possible; bedbugs die at temperatures above 50°C (122°F). Professional heat treatments can also be effective.

Use Protective Covers: Encase mattresses and box springs with bedbug-proof covers to trap any remaining bugs and prevent reinfestation.

Apply Insecticides: Use EPA-registered bedbug sprays carefully, following all label instructions. Focus on cracks, crevices, and other hiding places.

Use Natural Powders: Diatomaceous earth can be applied around baseboards and furniture to dehydrate and kill bedbugs naturally.

Repeat and Monitor: Bedbug eradication often requires multiple treatments and vigilant monitoring over several weeks.
