How to Use Vinegar for a Thorough Washing Machine Clean

Start with an empty washing machine. Set your machine to the hottest water setting and the largest load capacity.

Pour 2 cups of white distilled vinegar directly into the drum or detergent dispenser.

Allow the washing machine to run a full cycle. The vinegar will break down residue, kill mold, and eliminate odors.

For an extra deep clean, after the vinegar cycle finishes, sprinkle 1/2 cup of baking soda into the drum. Run another hot water cycle to further deodorize and clean the machine.

Once complete, wipe down the inside of the drum, door, and rubber seals with a clean cloth to remove any loosened grime.
