Preheat your oven to 180°C (350°F).
Core the apples, creating a hollow center but keeping the bottom intact.
In a small bowl, mix honey, cinnamon, nutmeg, cloves, and ginger until well combined.
Place the apples in a baking dish and fill each hollow center with the honey-spice mixture.
If using, sprinkle chopped nuts on top of the filled apples.
Add a splash of water to the baking dish to prevent burning and keep apples moist.
Bake for 25-30 minutes or until the apples are tender but still hold their shape.
Remove from oven and let cool slightly before serving.
