Bring the water to a boil in a saucepan.
Add the grated ginger to the boiling water. Reduce heat and let it simmer gently for 10-15 minutes to extract the ginger’s beneficial compounds.
Remove the saucepan from heat and allow the ginger water to cool slightly.
Strain the liquid into a pitcher to remove ginger pieces.
Stir in the freshly squeezed lemon juice.
Optionally, refrigerate or serve warm according to your preference.
