Wash the ginger root thoroughly to remove any dirt. Peel the ginger if preferred, then chop it into small pieces to facilitate blending.
Place the chopped ginger into a blender. Add about 1 cup of water for every large piece of ginger. Blend on high until smooth.
Strain the blended mixture through a fine mesh strainer or cheesecloth into a bowl or jug. Press gently with a spoon to extract as much juice as possible.
For enhanced flavor, stir in freshly squeezed lemon juice and a tablespoon of honey, mixing well to combine.
Serve the ginger juice as is, dilute it with water, or add it to your favorite smoothies and beverages.
