Easy Grandmother’s Dinner Buns: Soft, Fluffy, and Perfect Every Time

In a small bowl, combine warm milk, sugar, and yeast. Let sit for 5–10 minutes until frothy.

In a large mixing bowl, combine flour and salt. Make a well in the center.

Add the yeast mixture, beaten egg, and melted butter into the flour. Mix until a soft dough forms.

Knead the dough on a lightly floured surface for about 8–10 minutes until smooth and elastic.

Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover with a cloth, and let rise in a warm place for 1–1½ hours or until doubled in size.

Punch down the dough and divide it into 12 equal pieces. Shape into buns and place on a lined baking tray.

Cover and let rise again for 30–45 minutes until puffy.

Preheat the oven to 180°C (350°F). Bake for 18–20 minutes or until golden brown on top.

Optional: Brush with melted butter for an extra-soft finish.
