Gently wash and scrub the rhizomes to remove all soil.
Chop them into small pieces.
Bring 2 cups of water to a boil in a small pot.
Add the couch grass pieces, reduce heat, and simmer for 10–15 minutes.
Strain the liquid and discard the solids.
Serve warm or let it cool to room temperature before drinking.
