This dish combines the smoky richness of kielbasa sausage with the natural sweetness of apples and a tangy hint of Dijon mustard. The brown sugar and apple cider create a luscious glaze that coats each bite, making it irresistible. Perfect for a quick weeknight dinner or a comforting weekend treat, this recipe is easy to prepare and packed with bold flavors.
Ingredients:
1 pound kielbasa sausage, cut into 1/2-inch slices
2 apples, cored and chopped into small pieces
1/2 cup brown sugar
1/2 cup apple cider (or apple juice)
2 tablespoons Dijon mustard
How to Make:
In a large skillet over medium heat, cook the kielbasa slices until browned on both sides, about 5-7 minutes. Remove and set aside.
In the same skillet, add the chopped apples and sauté until slightly softened, about 3-4 minutes.
Stir in the brown sugar, apple cider, and Dijon mustard. Bring to a simmer, stirring to combine.
Return the kielbasa to the skillet and coat with the sauce. Cook for another 5 minutes until the sauce thickens and the flavors meld.
Serve hot with your choice of side—mashed potatoes, rice, or crusty bread work great.
