1. Run a hot vinegar and baking soda cycle:
Pour 2 cups of white vinegar directly into the drum.
Add 1/4 cup of baking soda.
Run the machine on the hottest and longest cycle without any clothes inside.
This breaks down grime, mold, and odor-causing buildup.
2. Clean the lint trap and rubber seals:
If your washer has a lint trap or filter, remove and rinse it thoroughly.
Use a toothbrush to scrub around the rubber gasket and seals inside the door, where lint and mildew often hide.
Wipe with a vinegar-dampened cloth.
3. Flush the detergent drawer and outer surfaces:
Remove the detergent drawer and soak in hot water and vinegar for 30 minutes. Scrub if needed.
Wipe the outside of the machine, especially under the lid or around the control panel, using a clean cloth.
