Prepare the Potatoes: Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C). Wash the potatoes thoroughly and pat them dry. Slice each potato thinly, but don’t cut all the way through – leave about 1/4 inch at the bottom of the potato intact.
Season the Potatoes: In a small bowl, mix the sunflower oil, paprika powder, turmeric, marjoram, salt, and minced garlic. Brush this mixture generously over the potatoes, making sure to coat all the slices.
Bake the Potatoes: Place the potatoes on a baking sheet and bake in the preheated oven for 45-60 minutes, or until the potatoes are golden and crispy on the outside, and tender on the inside.
Sauté the Vegetables: While the potatoes are baking, heat the sunflower oil in a large pan over medium heat. Add the chopped onions and sauté them for about 5-7 minutes, until they are soft and slightly caramelized.
Serve: Once the potatoes are done, serve them hot with the sautéed onions on top. You can also add a side of fresh herbs or a dollop of sour cream for extra flavor.
