Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C). Grease a baking sheet or line it with parchment paper.
Prepare the dough:
In a large bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, salt, and rosemary. Stir in the grated cheddar cheese.
Add the milk and melted butter to the dry ingredients and mix until just combined.
Shape the rolls:
Turn the dough out onto a floured surface and knead it gently for a minute or two until smooth. Roll the dough into a log shape and cut it into 12 equal pieces. Shape each piece into a ball and place on the prepared baking sheet.
Bake:
Brush the tops of the rolls with the beaten egg for a golden finish.
Bake for 15-18 minutes or until golden brown and cooked through.
Serve:
Let the rolls cool slightly before serving. Enjoy them warm with butter or alongside your favorite dish.
