How to Make Orchid Fertilizer at Home

Chop the banana peel into small pieces to help release nutrients more effectively.

Measure out the Epsom salt, fish emulsion, and seaweed extract.

Mix the Fertilizer:
In a large container or watering can, add 1 liter of water. Dissolve the Epsom salt into the water first.

Add the Banana Peel and Optional Ingredients:
Add the chopped banana peel to the water. If you have fish emulsion or liquid seaweed extract, add a few drops of each to enhance the fertilizer's nutrient content.

Let It Steep:
Let the mixture sit for 24 hours, allowing the nutrients from the banana peel and other ingredients to infuse into the water.

Strain and Use:
After 24 hours, strain out the solids (banana peel bits). Use the liquid to water your orchids once every two weeks, or once a month for maintenance.
