Wash the oranges and carrots thoroughly.
Peel the oranges and carrots.
Cut the oranges into small pieces, removing the seeds.
Grate the carrot into thin strips or cut it into small pieces.
Peel and cut the apple (if using) into small pieces.
Place the orange pieces, grated carrot, and lemon juice into a saucepan.
Add the apple (optional) and 1/2 cup of water.
Add 1 teaspoon of cinnamon (optional) for extra flavor.
Cook over medium heat, stirring occasionally, for 30 to 40 minutes.
Once soft, use an immersion blender or food processor to puree the mixture.
Cook over low heat for an additional 10 to 15 minutes, stirring constantly.
Pour the hot jam into sterilized jars.
Close the jars immediately to create a vacuum seal.
Tips:
Store your jam in a cool, dark place. Once opened, refrigerate the jam and consume within 2-3 weeks.
Adding Spices: You can experiment by adding other spices such as ginger or nutmeg for a unique flavor.
