Grandma’s Classic Peach Cobbler Pie

Preheat the oven to 175°C (350°F).

In a saucepan over medium heat, cook the peaches with 1/2 cup of sugar until they begin to release juice (about 5–7 minutes). Set aside.

Place the butter in a baking dish (about 9x13 inches) and place in the oven until melted.

In a mixing bowl, combine the self-rising flour, remaining 1/2 cup sugar, cinnamon, nutmeg, milk, and vanilla extract. Stir until just combined.

Pour the batter over the melted butter in the baking dish. Do not stir.

Spoon the peaches and their juice evenly over the batter. Again, do not stir.

Bake for 45–50 minutes, or until golden brown and bubbling.

Let cool slightly before serving.
