Preheat your oven to 180°C (350°F). Grease your 19 cm baking pan with butter or line it with parchment paper.
Mix Wet Ingredients:
In a large bowl, whisk together the eggs, sugar, and vanilla sugar until fluffy and well-combined.
Add Dry Ingredients:
Sift the flour and baking powder together. Gradually add them to the wet ingredients, stirring gently until you get a smooth batter. Add a pinch of salt.
Add Apples:
Gently fold in the thinly sliced apples, making sure they are evenly distributed throughout the batter.
Bake the Cake:
Pour the batter into the prepared pan and smooth the top. Bake for 40-45 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean when inserted in the center.
Cool and Serve:
Allow the cake to cool for a bit before removing it from the pan. Once cooled, dust with powdered sugar if desired.
