Preheat the oven to 200°C (400°F).
Wash and peel the potatoes. Cut them into thick slices (about 1 cm each).
Boil the potato slices in salted water for 5-7 minutes until they are partially cooked but still firm. Drain well.
Heat the vegetable oil in a pan and fry the potato slices until they are golden and crispy on both sides. Sprinkle with salt to taste.
Prepare the Meat Filling:
In a pan, cook the ground meat over medium heat until browned.
Add the chopped onion and minced garlic to the pan and sauté for 2-3 minutes until fragrant.
Stir in the tomato paste, paprika (if using), salt, and pepper. Continue cooking for another 5 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the mixture thickens and becomes flavorful.
Assemble the Dish:
In a baking dish, arrange half of the fried potato slices in a layer.
Spread the cooked meat mixture evenly over the potatoes.
Add the remaining fried potato slices on top of the meat layer.
Sprinkle the shredded mozzarella cheese over the top.
Bake in the preheated oven for about 15 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and golden.
Serve and Enjoy:
Let the dish cool for a couple of minutes before serving. Slice and serve warm.
