Unplug and Cool Down: Ensure the iron is unplugged and cooled down completely before starting the cleaning process.
Clean the Soleplate with Baking Soda:
Mix baking soda with a little water to form a paste.
Use a cloth or an old toothbrush to gently rub the paste onto the soleplate. Focus on any areas with heavy build-up.
Wipe the paste off with a damp cloth and polish the soleplate with a dry cloth.
Clean the Steam Holes:
Fill the iron’s water reservoir with a mixture of equal parts water and white vinegar (about 1/2 cup of each).
Set the iron on the highest heat setting, then activate the steam function. Let it steam for a few minutes, which helps to clear out any mineral deposits or gunk inside the steam holes.
Afterward, empty the reservoir and refill it with clean water. Steam again to flush out any remaining vinegar solution.
Remove Stains from the Soleplate:
For stubborn stains or burnt residue, apply a small amount of white vinegar directly to the soleplate and scrub gently with a soft cloth.
Alternatively, use a damp cloth soaked in vinegar to wipe the soleplate clean.
Polish the Soleplate:
Once the iron is clean, wipe it down with a soft cloth to remove any moisture and restore its shine.
