Hawaiian Style Teriyaki Chicken

In a medium saucepan, combine soy sauce, water, sugar, and crushed garlic.

Bring the mixture to a boil, stirring occasionally to dissolve the sugar.

Once it boils, reduce the heat and let it simmer for 10-15 minutes to allow the flavors to meld.

Allow the teriyaki sauce to cool before using it to marinate the chicken.

Place the chicken thighs in a large bowl or resealable bag, and pour the cooled sauce over the chicken. Marinate for at least 1 hour, or overnight for a deeper flavor.

Preheat your grill or skillet to medium-high heat.

Cook the marinated chicken for 6-7 minutes on each side, or until fully cooked and slightly caramelized.

Serve the Hawaiian teriyaki chicken with steamed rice and vegetables for a complete meal.
