In a bowl, warm the milk slightly until it’s lukewarm. Add the sugar and yeast, stirring to dissolve. Let it sit for about 5 minutes, until it’s frothy.

In a separate large bowl, mix the flour and salt. Add the yeast mixture, egg, and softened butter. Stir to combine.

Knead the dough for 8-10 minutes until it becomes smooth and elastic. Cover it with a damp cloth and let it rise in a warm place for about 1 hour or until doubled in size.

Make the Garlic Butter Filling:

In a small bowl, mix the softened butter, minced garlic, chopped parsley, and sugar until well combined.

Assemble the Loaf:

Once the dough has risen, punch it down and divide it into small equal-sized balls (about 12-15 pieces).

Flatten each ball and place a small spoonful of the garlic butter mixture in the center. Pinch the dough around the filling and roll it into a ball.

Arrange the balls in a greased loaf pan, stacking them up like a tower.

Bake the Bread:

Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Let the dough rise in the pan for 20-30 minutes until it puffs up.

Bake for 25-30 minutes, or until the top is golden brown and the bread sounds hollow when tapped.

Serve:

Let the bread cool slightly before serving. Pull apart the individual pieces, dip them in any remaining garlic butter, and enjoy!
