Bring the water to a boil, then remove from heat.
Add cloves and let them steep for 10–15 minutes.
Strain the liquid into a bowl.
Add baking soda, vinegar (if using), and a few drops of dish soap.
Stir well and pour the mixture into a spray bottle.
Shake before each use and spray in areas where cockroaches appear: under sinks, along baseboards, behind appliances, and in corners.
