Begin by cooking the breakfast sausage in a large skillet over medium heat. Break it up with a spoon as it cooks, allowing it to brown evenly.
Once the sausage is browned and cooked through, sprinkle the flour over the sausage. Stir to coat the sausage with the flour and cook for 1-2 minutes to get rid of the raw flour taste.
Slowly add the milk to the sausage mixture while stirring constantly to prevent lumps. Continue to cook the mixture until it thickens to a gravy-like consistency, about 5-7 minutes.
Season with garlic powder, salt, and pepper to taste. Stir well to combine.
While the gravy is thickening, bake your biscuits if they’re homemade, or heat them if you’re using store-bought ones.
Serve the sausage gravy over the hot biscuits and enjoy!
