Cloud-Soft Buttermilk Biscuits – A Homemade Classic

Preheat oven to 220°C (425°F). Line a baking tray with parchment paper.

In a large bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, baking soda, sugar, and salt.

Add the cold butter and use a pastry cutter or your fingertips to work it into the flour until crumbly.

Pour in the milk or buttermilk and mix just until a soft dough forms—do not overmix.

Turn dough onto a lightly floured surface and gently pat into a 2 cm thick rectangle.

Cut out biscuits using a round cutter. Press straight down without twisting.

Place biscuits close together on the baking tray for soft sides or spaced apart for crisp edges.

Bake for 12–15 minutes or until golden brown on top.
