Southern Chocolate Cobbler: A Decadent Twist on a Classic Dessert

Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9x9-inch baking dish.

In a medium bowl, combine the flour, sugar, baking powder, salt, and 2 tbsp of cocoa powder.

Stir in the milk, melted butter, and vanilla extract to create a thick batter.

Spread the batter evenly into the prepared baking dish.

In a separate bowl, mix the brown sugar and ½ cup cocoa powder for the topping. Sprinkle this mixture over the batter.

Pour the boiling water evenly over the top of the cobbler (do not stir).

Bake for 35-40 minutes, or until the top is set and the chocolate sauce is bubbling underneath.

Serve warm, optionally topped with vanilla ice cream or whipped cream.
