Heat a cup of water until it is warm (but not boiling).
Add the turmeric powder into the warm water and stir until fully dissolved.
Squeeze the juice of half a lemon into the mixture.
Add black pepper to the drink, as it helps in the absorption of turmeric's active compound, curcumin.
If desired, add a teaspoon of honey for a natural sweetness.
Stir well and drink immediately on an empty stomach for maximum benefit.
